Hello, I'm Az (A-Z); I'm glad you're here! I am a firm believer in the healing power of connection and community. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, client-centered, strengths-based, and anti-capitalist/-colonialist. I come from a non-pathologizing perspective and always utilize whatever words, language, and labels (or lack thereof) make my clients most comfortable—knowing that for some folks diagnoses can feel like being put into a box, while others find the knowledge liberating. I work with clients from all backgrounds and identities, with specialization in fat, disabled, queer, polyamorous, and/or neurodivergent clients.
In sessions, I often utilize mindfulness, parts work, attachment-, relational-, and somatic-based interventions, as well as music, play, art, and other creative endeavors (including TTRPG therapy groups). I tend towards a more directive approach, leaning into humor and compassionate accountability. I currently offer therapy through two different practices:
Tender Heart Healing Arts (private practice) and Alchemy Community Therapy Center (equitable-scale talk therapy & in training for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy).
