Feeling out of integrity with who you really are? Struggling to come into your identity with confidence? Isolated and hopeless? Or lost and unsatisfied in your relationships ? I deeply understand how painful these challenges are, and how awful it is to be misunderstood. As a queer, sober woman I've worked through many of these challenges myself. This is why I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults and couples. My goal as a transpersonal counselor is to guide you toward self-realization and freedom from the weight of your past, expanding beyond the traditional western framework of therapy.
Transpersonal can be broken down to mean "beyond the self". This counseling can include the following: working with energy and boundaries, accessing higher spiritual wisdom, breath-work, meditation, dreamwork, somatic regulation techniques etc. I also encourage the use of creative expressions like dance, music, movement, art, and play to support healing.
My counseling approach is mindfulness-based, multiculturally informed, and whole-person-centered. This means I look at the complexity of an individual, in relationship to the social systems they are part of, with heartfelt conscientiousness. I believe in anti-oppressive relating to wellness and I engage in actively decolonizing my counseling practice.
