Welcome! My name is Autumn Rodney and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As a Christian, I thank God for equipping me to help clients in their time of need and for giving me a passion to see relationships thrive! First, I want to commend you on taking this nerve-wracking step toward becoming a better version of yourself. I am most fulfilled when I can work with clients who are self-aware and have the courage to change.
My clients can expect to be heard and feel supported on their first session with me. It’s a time to take a deep breath and let it all out! My clients can expect to possibly lose track of time because they are releasing what has been weighing them down. I suggest jotting down some key points or issues they are wanting to discuss.
I always recommend being in a comfortable area with comfortable clothes, having water handy, and make sure a box of tissue is near (since telehealth is the new way of life!) You never know what emotions will pour out on your first session. It’s also important for me to get to know my clients and what motivated them to be bold enough to come to therapy.
