I have previous experience working as a Social Worker for two nonprofit foster care and adoption agencies for 10 years. I also have experience working with children and families at school sites and in a clinic nonprofit setting for over 6 years as a Clinician, Supervisor, and Parent Partner. I work best with people who are open to looking at things with a different perspective and trying new things (even "outside of the box" approaches) with the belief that everyone has the potential for change and to make a better life.
I have worked with all types of clients, ranging from ages 3-70, with challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma Hx, life challenges, and regular life struggles. I am open to working with LQBTQ+ as I am an ally.
I usually explain my qualifications and experience within the first session. I also explain what I am willing to do in sessions and how I work (ex. whether or not a client chooses to have homework or not, exploring/researching techniques or options that interest the client).
