Hi my name is Kelsey Kjellsen and I am a licensed professional counselor, clinical supervisor, and owner of Just Be Counseling Services, LLC. I work with individuals and families who are looking to make life-changing improvements. My primary passion is to help young adults (18-35) who are working to create the life that feels meaningful to them. Clients I see may be dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, chronic health conditions, relationships, depression, troubling behaviors, high stress, and trauma to name a few. I also work with youth (7+) and their families to promote positive and healthy family connections.
I have specialized training in ACT Therapy, Anxiety, Trauma, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Parent Training, and Play Therapy and use a tailored approach for each client to help support their unique and individualized needs. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy as a strong connection allows clients to be vulnerable.
My goal is to help clients achieve their goals by empowering them to find the answers that lie within them. It is magical to witness individuals discover that it is enough to simply JUST BE... you! The path may not always be clear or easy, but you have the tools to reach the top. I look forward to assisting you on your journey!

Kelsey Kjellsen's Groups

Active Parenting of Teens Workshops

Active Parenting of Teens brings parents of children ages 10-17 together over a six-week period. At each session parents identify daily family problems and then learn communication skills for solving and preventing them. What kinds of problems? Chore wars, sibling rivalry, homework hassles, peer pressure...to name a few. The workshop's goal is to help parents raise teens who are cooperative, responsible and able to resist peer pressure. It also helps develop communication techniques that teens will use for the rest of their lives.

Social Skills Groups

Social skills groups provide opportunities for social interactions in a fun and engaging environment. These groups allow individuals to meet new people and learn appropriate ways to interact with others. Children and teens learn about topics such as boundaries, emotional regulation, coping skills, healthy communication, perspective taking, cooperation, and problem solving-skills to name a few. Currently I am facilitating a Basic Skills Group and an Intermediate Skills Group. Please contact me for more details and accurate placement for your child.

Professional Connections

Kelsey is as solid as they come. Compassionate, kind, friendly, sincere, firm... and skilled without equal in my opinion. I have referred numerous clients to her due to her aptitude and experience with treating various challenges among children and adolescents. Her ability to earn their trust and that of their parents is one of her strongest clinical attributes. Do yourself a favor and schedule with her to help you and your family.
