About
"I wish I had done this years ago". The harsh reality is that emotional struggles to this day continue to be stigmatized and shamed. The brain is an organ, and like any other physiological system and it can require some fine tuning from time to time. Whether you or a loved one have been under the grips of anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping, or simply sub-optimal functioning, we can have an open, honest discussion about whether medication is the right answer. Throughout my 14 years in psychiatry, I've had no greater joy than to see my patients improve. It's never too late to get better.
My approach is based in the medical model, yet tailored to the individual based on his or her needs. I believe in asking all the right questions, collecting everything from detailed lifelong events, to family history as well. I like to know if you've had experience with medications, and what treatment regimens have worked or failed.
I am very interested to know you first as an individual in need, and then as a patient so that we can formulate a clinical diagnosis and plan of care. I pride myself on offering a comfortable atmosphere, free of judgements or biases. The goal in my treatment is maximizing your potential and improving your day to day functionality.
