As a psychotherapist, I aim to help patients understand the trouble in their lives and make lasting changes. I believe it takes time to understand the complexities of patients' stories. My approach is both collaborative and challenging. Sometimes this involves helping people look at parts of themselves that are painful, or hard to see clearly. Some patients find short-term therapy is enough for solving immediate problems, while many benefit from long-term intensive therapy to uncover the roots of their suffering, gain clarity, and regain momentum in their lives.
I have specialized training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, which is a form of treatment that aims to fully resolve the underlying causes of one's distress. In addition to my private practice, I completed my training at Mass General/Harvard Medical School, where I am on staff. I am experienced in treating people suffering from a range of problems.
I see patients in individual therapy who find themselves feeling stuck in problematic patterns and struggling with depression, anxiety, family and relationship difficulties, school and career challenges, and suicidal ideation. Although I am not on insurance panels, many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits that can help cover the cost of therapy.
