I am a licensed clinical child psychologist specializing in utilizing state of the art assessment and therapy techniques to detect and treat learning disabilities, ADHD, and other emotional/personality issues which may hinder a child's learning experience. In addition, our clinic performs infant developmental testing and kindergarten readiness evaluations. As a parent of five children, I understand the many issues that we face on a daily basis with our children and I strive to assist parents with finding answers to problems facing their family system.

I have worked with mental health issues for several years and have successfully helped children, adolescents and adults work through their issues. I have experience with postpartum depression, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, abuse, addictions and many other mental health diagnoses. I also specialize in marriage, family and relationship counseling.

I currently provide telehealth services for anyone residing in California or Utah. I believe the core self knows what we need in order to heal if we listen. I have experience with teens/adults who struggle with suicidality/self-injury, trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, life-transitions, and spiritual/religious crises. We apply in-depth DBT, and also (importantly) what comes after DBT. I am trained in Mindfulness, DBT Foundations, EMDR, and Sand Tray work. I work well with spiritual orientations, behavioral approaches, narrative and strengths-based work. My doctoral research focused on self-injury.

Addiction and its accompanying issues make life a struggle for both the client and for those who love them. Those in active addiction intuitively know there is a gap between the life they're demonstrating and the possibilities their potential affords - if they could only get out of their own way. My methods promote profound fundamental change: the shedding of self-destructive attributes, the definition of a clear, compelling vision for the future, and the tools clients need to implement strategies that will enable them to become the best possible version of themselves.

I look forward to meeting my clients where they are at and working together to create a treatment plan for where my clients want to be. I enjoy working with families, couples, children, and individuals needing a safe place to develop effective skills in dealing with life challenges. Megan Komatsu, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Arizona State University and her master's in social work from San Diego State University. She is trained in EMDR and several other treatment modalities. She specializes in the treatment of trauma/post-traumatic stress disorder and also treats depression, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship issues, and adjustment disorders. She has treated a diverse clientele of all ages and has spoken at national and local conferences.

I have an extensive 20-year background as a therapist in a multitude of settings. I am committed and passionate to my work in helping individuals and families find their inner strength and resilience to live their best life. I specialize in treating trauma, addition and relationship issues. I am a certified addiction counselor, an EMDR trauma practitioner, and have extensive training in psychodynamic and attachment theory. I also utilize mindfulness-based ACT therapy techniques with my clients. I am a MindShield practitioner and trainer as well.
