Therapy does not have to be painful or seemingly endless. Having worked in every setting I understand your mental health journey. Clients often come to me when they have tried other avenues of treatment with little to no felt success. Most struggle with mood dysregulation and their connections with others are suffering for any number of reasons. Often they are also wanting to understand how to navigate their own emotional/mental landscape better. Teens, Young Adults and their Parents are who I work with.

I have over 20 years experience working and growing with the continually developing mental health field. I believe in the immovable strength that all people have within them. Trauma, pain, and disheartenment are all part of the human experience. We are all connected by these experiences, and our abilities to overcome life’s greatest challenges. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach and I believe strongly in my ability to work with the diversity of mental health issues.

I have extensive training in many forms of therapy and coaching and customize services to each client's needs, including modern western traditions (such as attachment-based, Jungian, DBT), and other (such as psychedelic integration, walk and talk).
If you are seeking a catalyst for creativity and change, or a safe container for processing events and circumstances, I will be able to help you with non-pathologizing, traditional and non-traditional services for wellness, trauma, life transitions, behavior modification, spirituality, performance, and groundedness. I believe in human connection and the healing powers of validation, being heard, at times challenged, and seen. I bring myself to the room with my clients and "go there" with them, healing along the spectrum from learning how to experience the deepest wells, to planning coordinated, intellecutalized courses of action.

Trained in EMDR, I am passionate about trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches in therapy to assist individuals in expanding their emotional intelligence and resilience, and, improving their relationships.
One of my personal mottos is “I am still learning” and I use the same perspective with clients as we work to address your needs in therapy together. Through the therapeutic process, I hope to empower you with greater understanding and compassion for yourself and for what you are learning from your experiences and choices. I am an advocate for educating the general public about mental health. I believe in the power of an individual to make personal and global change. I love helping individuals gain greater insight into thought, feeling and behavior patterns that you feel are no longer serving your best interests.

Over the years I have evolved as a therapist through having the honor of being a part of my clients’ journey. I am passionate about working with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, gender identities/sexual orientations and belief systems. As a therapist I believe that each stage in life is important and it takes time to explore every aspect but it is well worth it! I truly believe that each individual needs to have the space to be themselves and to be respected enough to make decisions about their life. I look forward to hearing about your story, hopes and dreams and to help you along your journey toward wellbeing.

I believe that seeking help from a therapist takes strength and courage. When I see clients, it is my goal to compassionately and collaboratively address the issues that are most difficult, and help lead and guide them in their process of resolving concerns. I believe people have incredible abilities, thus one of my primary goals is to help explore, process and improve the manifestations of these strengths. I am passionate about helping people improve individual, couple and family functioning and I believe that a safe, comfortable and confidential environment is important in that process.

Therapy can be supportive when we get stuck in patterns or emotions, when we are seeking more clarity or desire a deeper connection to ourselves and others. I would love to hear your story and what matters to you and help you navigate your experience.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges? Are you struggling to make sense of your thoughts and feelings? Are you ready to cultivate a deeper sense of self-compassion, self-awareness, and self-acceptance? My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and empathetic space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. My approach is deeply rooted in humanizing each person who walks through my door, seeing them not as a diagnosis or a label, but as unique individuals with their own stories, struggles, and strengths.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
