Contact me if you are struggling with relationship difficulties, sex, sexuality concerns, trauma, losses of loved ones, ADHD, depression or anxiety. I will help you better understand and accept yourself, and use your own insights and strengths to change and grow. I am also passionate about working with individuals, families and groups with cross-cultural/immigration background. Coming to United States as an international student myself, I deeply understand the challenges in the international community, the painful process of loss and separation from home countries, and difficulties to fit in due to language and cultural barriers.

As a therapist and visual artist, my work is informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, neuroscience, mindfulness and imagery techniques, somatic work, cognitive behavioral therapy, and attachment-based therapy.
If you are feeling stuck and overwhelmed, you came to the right place. Together, we'll gain insight into what's getting in your way to restore balance to your life. I'll help you identify distorted thinking, modify beliefs, alter behavior, and relate to yourself and others in a way that feels easeful and gratifying. I am warm, non-judgmental, and direct—no subject is off limits, and humor is welcome! My style is integrative, merging evidence-based therapies with alternative “new-wave" therapies, honoring the connection between mind, body and spirit. I am strengths-based, trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirmative, and nonpathologizing.

I use an integration of Attachment-based theory, EMDR, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, DBT, and Schema-Focused Therapy.
As human beings, we find ourselves in "the comfortable and familiar," and sometimes those are not effective in our lives. I believe that regardless of our differences, environments, cultures and trauma histories, we all have the same core needs; safety, belonging, love, validation, attunement and healthy attachments. With attuning to clients and experiencing my own healing journey, I am in awe of the human experience people's resilience. You already know how to cope and survive. If you want transformation and transcendence, join me and let's get to the root of the suffering.

Advanced and specialized training in postpartum & paternal mental health and perinatal mood & anxiety disorders guide my emotionally focused and attachment-based approach to empower men on their transformative journey from Dude to Dad.
Modern men like you want to make it happen - successful marriage, fatherhood, career, etc. You need to get out of your head and speak freely, but you don't want to burden your relationships. Your partner isn't supposed to be your therapist, and if you're often feeling defensive, irritable, isolated, and overwhelmed, then it's better to get help now before things get a little bit too FUBAR. The therapeutic relationship needs to feel right, and you want a therapist who will listen to you, join you through the truth, challenge and support you, and tell you like it is when you need some honest feedback.

I do this by taking a relational, attachment-based approach to therapy while folding in acceptance and mindfulness skills-based work as needed.
In an era where we’re bombarded with self-love messaging from all sides, too many of us are left to struggle with the nagging question: “But how do I love myself?” Some of us—especially those carrying marginalized identities—were never taught. Instead, we were given life scripts urging us to make ourselves small and focus solely on the ways we come up short. The fact that you’ve taken this step to find support is a pivotal moment; you’re acknowledging that you deserve better, and you’re willing to do the work to get there. I’d love to help you with that.

Through attachment-based and psychodynamic approaches, we will work to create resilient relationships that emphasize open, assertive communication.
After years as a performing artist and opera singer, I recognized that creativity, play, and being known are integral to our sense of well-being. I discovered my passion for supporting people through creativity and talk therapy to pursue fulfilling and meaningful lives. I strive to create a warm, nurturing environment to process your experiences and identify your strengths and values. I work with adolescents through late adulthood with a wide range of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related, OCD, neurodivergent, and personality disorders.

I have nearly a decade of experience working in education, journalism, and addiction counseling. In many ways, my own path to becoming a therapist informs my therapeutic approach. My goal is to accompany clients with empathy, authenticity, and hope as they work to achieve a sense of wholeness in their lives with the courage to explore patterns and to ask “what’s missing.”

Footprints was started by a therapist who realized that often times the services provided to low socio-economic communities is lacking quality care. We noticed these communities were confronted with long wait times, disrespectful admins, and subpar treatment. The one and only purpose was to exploit the community for profit without providing the level of care deserved. Feel Better Therapy began from the inspiration to provide quality mental health care to the poorest of communities and treating the clients of this community the same way a rich patient would be treated in a clinic treating affluent clients.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
