I have had the honor of conducting professional counseling services since 2007 as an Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I consider myself to be a mental health clinician. Client empowerment, rapport building, and a unique ability to teach clients to unlearn unhealthy coping skills and to relearn healthy coping skills are my strengths. Strong focus is given to emotional regulation and assessing emotional dis-regulation symptoms in clients. The use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the treatment orientation I use the most with my clients.
Anger management or as I like to call it aggression management is one my areas of expertise. I have conducted hundreds of anger/aggression management groups and individual sessions in my experience. Many therapists teach healthy coping skills. I teach clients how and when to apply healthy coping skills.
It is my belief that every unhealthy behavior can be unlearned and clients can relearn healthy behavior. I strongly emphasize with my clients repetition, motivation, and desire to change. The difference between long term gratification and short term gratification is heavily emphasized. Christian counseling with forgiveness approach a strength too.
