Let my office be a judgment-free, secure space to explore and get curious about what's happening for you and in your life. A place to ask and answer tough questions; like, how you got here, where you want to go, and what you need to get there. Let's work on coping skills, healing strategies, and building strong healthy connections with yourself and others. I invite you to listen to your inner guidance and give yourself permission to create the life you want to live. I'd love to walk along side you on this path.

You're tired of regular "talk therapy" and are sick of being stuck in a cycle that leaves you feeling burnt out. Maybe you are LGBTQ+ or Neurodivergent and need someone who understands the nuances of that. Do you want to learn distress tolerance skills to use in moments where it seems like the overwhelming emotions you feel are a dangerous tidal wave about to crash around you? Are you a caretaker who has discovered how overstimulating parenting is and want to improve your own emotional regulation so that you can help your child regulate? You are capable of the hard things. Let me help you find that capability within yourself!

What it’s like to come in for therapy? Therapy is about sharing vulnerability that you may not have experienced before, or at least not experienced positively before. We’re not friends, but we have a connection that we build that is professionally intimate and caring. Therapy is about analysis and making meaning of things that you have gone through and are presently dealing with. Sometimes that presents challenges to a person, things that are occurring with us are tough to look at and face- that’s why I’m here. I will help you look at things that are hard to take in and help you to either accept and appreciate or accept and change.

Immediate in-person and telehealth availability! You work so hard every day. You worry about how much you have on your plate, but still find yourself saying yes when you want to say no. The idea of prioritizing things seems overwhelming and exhausting. Then your inner critic starts saying things like "Why is this so hard for you? Other people do it". While you have historically been able to power through, everything feels like too much and something has got to give. You want to carve out more time for yourself, your family and friends, your creative pursuits, and recharging your batteries. It's time to make yourself a priority.

You wonder how things got this way, you used to feel connected with your partner. You feel alone, confused, frustrated, misunderstood, rejected etc. You reach out, you are trying…it turns to an argument or distancing. It often seems like a blame game with defensive reactions. How do you turn this around and feel safe with your partner again, or other loved ones? You are concerned about the outcome, yet it’s not getting better. Something needs to change but you’re unsure how to approach things.

Life has a way of paralyzing us with negative “what if’s?" What if there was a way to become unstuck? What if someone sat in the muck with you? What if you could finally get through a conversation with your child or spouse without yelling or storming off? Those are just a few what-ifs we can explore together. Let's create a space where you feel seen, valued, and understood. Together we can create a space where things feel less lonely, complex, or overwhelming. A space where you feel like you have your child's spark back. Wouldn't you like life to feel a little more possible? A little less lonely? To see smiles instead of tears?

Connection with others who care is a central need for all human beings. This need is often most deeply felt during times of relational distress or personal struggle. My role as a therapist is to provide a safe place for you to feel cared for and understood when you need it most. Therapy provides a sacred space for healing and growth. It is within this space that I help clients process painful emotions and uncover patterns that keep them stuck in unhealthy relational dynamics. My passion is to help clients experience greater joy and fulfillment in their life and relationships.

My approach to counseling and psychotherapy is rooted in relational psychoanalytic and attachment-based work, which provides a deeper understanding of how past experiences and the therapeutic interactions within the therapy room influence one's present life and relationships.
Knowing we can be loved exactly as we are gives us the best opportunity to grow into the healthiest people. I believe relational psychotherapy helps to restore hope and connection, even during seasons of immense pain and suffering. Having a place where you can be heard and feel known is essential while working through heavy feelings, emotions, thoughts, and processing difficult experiences. As therapy deepens, individuals I work with gain insight into presenting symptoms and patterns of behavior that initially brought them to see me.

I've provided therapy services for adults, teens, and children for over 8 years. I've found that the individuals who seem to flourish working with me are those who are particularly committed to understanding themselves and their struggles at a deeper level. I work to help facilitate meaningful insights and this often includes exploration of earlier relationships in a client's life. I believe that each person I work with is a unique and complex individual needing services tailored to them.

I offer a holistic, trauma-informed approach to therapy, change and healing that is informed by neuroscience, including: Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, attachment-based, IFS/parts, Play Therapy, iRest, yoga.
Sometimes life is hard. We experience stress, difficult experiences, wounding in relationships, and trauma along with many other experiences. We carry these with us and they show up in our daily lives - in our thoughts, emotions, physical body, relationships with others, relationship with our self. Maybe you've noticed feeling stuck and overwhelmed. Weighed down. Maybe anxious. Maybe you've noticed patterns in your relationships. Maybe physical discomfort and pain. Tension in your body. Maybe you're curious about what you're noticing. Or maybe you’re curious about who YOU are – the authentic you.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
