Hi there, I am here to help you. I work with individuals, couples, and families with struggles ranging from current life issues, relationship struggles, and issues that have been a lifelong battle. Clients often come to me because they have hit the lowest point and have never felt more alone, even after trying therapy countless times before. Many clients have left counseling finding resolution and a drive to live their life to the fullest. My clients have expressed finding healing, feeling equipped to manage life, and having healthier relationships and connections with others that they previously thought weren't possible.

I approach treatment through an attachment-based, trauma-informed, psychodynamic lens and collaborative framework, recognizing that you are the expert of your life experience.
We are wired to repeat deeply learned patterns that, at a certain point, no longer serve us. Whether it’s in your personal relationships, or your relationship with yourself, at times you may find yourself feeling stuck in a repetitive loop, with outcomes that feel undesirable or out of your control. Together we can identify and explore these patterns in order to define your goals and work towards meaningful growth.

I use a systems and developmental approach that integrates attachment-based, mindfulness and somatic practices.
Welcome! Do you feel misunderstood and undervalued? Are you looking for more meaningful connection? Anxiety, pain and relationship stress can show up in our bodies, our work ethic, our social interactions, sleep habits and so much more. What happens to us early in life influences our ability to cope with the stress and setbacks that life can throw at us. Whether it's a chronic health issue, recent or past trauma, grief, or an ongoing stressor, you don't have to experience it alone. I have an integrative and person-centered approach that uses the therapeutic relationship to build your sense of agency to get yourself unstuck.

The way you are living isn't working anymore. It's getting harder to keep up the appearance of being fine like you always have. When you think about how you've been acting and feeling recently, you're not quite sure you like the person you've become. All the struggles & conflicts you face with your partner, kids, family, co-workers keep you on overload, but you have no idea how you could handle them differently. You feel like your life is out of control, and you are ready to try anything that might help you to not completely fall apart and live in dread and overwhelm every day.

It's getting harder and harder not to argue in front of the kids. Or, not to argue at all. You are feeling resentful and annoyed with your partner and your negative reactions happen faster than ever before. Plus, you don't want to rock the boat and almost any conversation you have right now turns into an argument. It feels like the person lying next to you in bed is only a roommate and you are lonely. You thought things were getting better but then one more fight sent you back to square-one of feeling alone and distant from each other. You are no longer playing the waiting/hoping game and are looking for change.

I believe healing happens when we are reoriented toward what is truly good for us and entertain the possibility of more of it. You've learned ways to get by in life, and you pull it off well, maybe even perfectly. But along the way, you've picked up burdens you can't seem to set down. You're overwhelmed, and some days you aren't sure who you are anymore. There is a small part of you that wonders if maybe there's something more for your life, or if maybe there's a way forward that doesn't feel so hard.

Lifestream Integrative Healing Center offers holistic trauma treatment that helps individuals heal and return to the lives they were innately meant to have.

I work with individuals who are navigating grief and loss, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, life transitions and identity development. In therapy, I balance addressing symptoms and looking beyond the surface to address the underlying emotions driving behavioral and interpersonal patterns. By learning new adaptive coping strategies and gaining insight into the early development of current emotional wounds or maladaptive behaviors, clients can feel empowered to create positive change.

Serious and chronic illness, difficult life transitions, or the profound grief you experience with the loss of a loved one – it can leave us feeling depressed, anxious, angry, confused, isolated, and lost. A lot of the time, we acclimate and move right along, but other times, it throws us completely off course. When the unthinkable happens to you, how do you get to a place where you feel safe, content, and at peace? Whatever your therapeutic goals may be, you deserve to feel heard, understood, and validated.

At some point in life, most of us will find ourselves stuck and overwhelmed. The ways we have navigated life aren’t working, and the uncertainty we face is too much to bear alone. We need space to wrestle and a calm presence to join with us as we consider the way forward. For others of us, life has felt like one hit after another. We need a safe place to fall apart and permission to grieve at our own pace.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
