I am dedicated to assisting clients reach their individual goals, work through life transitions, and address the difficult challenges that often happen in our lives. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, I work with children aged 3 – 12, adolescents and adults. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have training in Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR). My past work experience has focused on the issues of grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, and behavioral issues.

My goal is to provide you with comfort, trust, and empowerment through education on ways you can improve your quality of life by dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, or personal issues, etc. Coming to therapy can be challenging, so let me help you. The client-therapist relationship is very important in this process and one that begins at first contact. Though I practice at a Christian counseling center, religion and/or faith will not be a topic of discussion unless you initiate it. I'd be glad to hear from you.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and counseling supervisor with over 17 years of experience working with children, teenagers, and adults who feel stuck and desire change but may not know what to do. I work from a trauma informed, systems focused approach to counseling, and have helped clients work through a wide range of obstacles, including depression, anxiety, anger management, foster and adoptive care issues, pre-marital and marriage counseling, PTSD, and more.

I am a clinical social worker with nearly 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. My professional goal is to develop the highest quality relationship with each client, using a variety of specific techniques catered to the individual’s needs. I offer a safe and supportive therapeutic environment based on trust and mutual respect. I use a solution-focused approach tailored to the client’s strengths to achieve his or her desired goals. I have experience working in settings such as schools, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient and partial hospital day programs, and private practice.

I provide counseling services for those seeking help with depression and anxiety related disorders, grief, trauma, injury, or communication and relational difficulties. A specific passion of mine is performance-based counseling. The goal is to reduce distress and unconscious factors that take away from your ability to perform or act. These difficulties might show themselves in athletes, creatives, public speakers, or any other skill-based task. I can help you work through these mental roadblocks so that you can better use the skills that you already have.

Lauren received her B.S. in Psychology in 2006 and M.S. in Counseling in 2011 from William Carey University. She is very passionate about working with individuals, children/adolescents, and families to improve relationships and quality of life. Lauren is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Aggression Replacement Training (ART), Collaborative Problem Solving(CPS), the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (ACRA), and has training in being an Adoptions Competent Counselor.
