I have been working in the field for over 20 years with many diverse populations of people. I have enjoyed my work with children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and groups. Over the years I have worked in agency settings, schools, as well as home-based work and privately. Currently my practice is focused on couples, families and parent guidance as well grief work with teenagers, and adults using expressive arts. I hope to help clients discover new ways of living their lives that are more in line with their hopes, desires, and ways they wish to be in this world.
My work is informed by a variety theoretical frameworks. I find people have their unique story to tell and my job is to help them recognize the parts of their story that are helpful and those that get in the way of living the kind of life that they want.
I have experience in expressive arts therapy and find it can be a useful tool in helping people express their thoughts and feelings as well as working with particular difficult states (e.g. depression, anxiety). I see the work as a collaborative process and we are in it together.

Moving the Clay Towards Healing the Heart: 1/27/24
Grief and loss are universal and each of us are on our unique journey through this emotional landscape. Art making of any kind can be very helpful in healing from loss. Clay in particular can be a powerful medium, as the experience of working with it can be transformative, both figuratively and literally. As one moves the clay they are also moving with the grief, transforming it slowly, creating an object of representation that has meaning. https://www.mudflat.org/
