I work with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, and families to help overcome a variety of stressors including anxiety, depression, impulse control and executive functioning issues like ADHD/language processing challenges, autism spectrum disorder, blended family struggles, academic challenges (from performance anxiety to IEPs and therapeutic schools), oppositional behaviors, and substance use. My clients describe me as warm, dedicated, and helpful. I tailor my approach to each client or family using an active-listening, strengths-based approach to build a trusting relationship and help clients identify and attain solutions that improve their functioning and relationships.
I use an age-appropriate mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, coping skills based on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Family Therapy. I'm also certified in Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach, an evidenced-based practice shown to reduce substance use through CBT, motivational interviewing, skills coaching, family therapy, and increasing community connections.
My additional experience doing in-home child and family therapy has given me the unique and fortunate opportunity to work with clients in their own homes and communities.
