I am a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in the Berkshires and virtually in New York City. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families struggling with a range of emotional and relational/interpersonal issues. My orientation is primarily Psychodynamic and Relational. I am strongly influenced by Attachment Theory, Mindfulness, and my training in EMDR. I work collaboratively to help you make sense of what is going on- to identify the problem and why you are feeling the way you are feeling, and use this knowledge to consider how to shift things.
In my experience, having an interest, openness and willingness to look at oneself, one's experiences and "stuff," is the starting place. I'm not interested in getting stuck in the past, yet knowing our past- knowing ourselves- is what puts us on solid ground to move forward for ourselves, and in relationships, to make healthy choices.
I have a BA with Honors from Brown University and a MSW from New York University. I have been in practice since 2003 and my professional experience and training includes work at the Jacobi Medical Center in NY and the Austen Riggs Ctr in Stockbridge, MA, ongoing continuing ed, and EMDR training Levels 1 and 2 from the Ctr for Excellence in EMDR Therapy.
