Whatever the issue - trauma, illness, loss, adjustments, relationships - I meet you where you are and listen to understand your challenges. In a safe and supportive environment, we will gently explore the sources of these difficulties and collaboratively seek ways to develop the insight, connections, grounding, and sense of flourishing that you seek. I draw from mindfulness and contemplative practices, family systems, cognitive therapies and nature-based interventions to dovetail the counseling process specifically for your needs.

We were not created to navigate life's challenges on our own. Often times we need others in these periods in our lives. It is my honor to walk with people during these difficult periods of life and help guide them towards healing. As the counselor for Shield of Hope Counseling, I aim to see restoration for people in their relationships with God, themselves, and others.

I’ve worked with families, individuals and couples with a variety of issues for many years; these include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, coping with major health issues, and every day stressors. My counseling style is warm and personable; I tend to communicate with both compassion and clarity. I believe my clients are the experts on their lives, and I’m here to offer deeper support and understanding for you as you travel through your desired journey.

I have been practicing as a psychotherapist for 30 years and I very much enjoy my work. My goal is to help people with healing, and in so doing help them to live a more joyful and meaningful life. I have years of experience helping clients address and recover from many different issues. I work with emotional wounds that are often at the core of issues that clients bring to me, and with healing trauma including religious trauma. I have found that when these wounds can be addressed in a safe environment, healing can take place. I work with adults of all life stages, with adolescents, children, with individuals, families and groups.

As a clinician I seek to create a collaborative, safe, and accepting environment where clients can work toward change and wellness. In developing a trusting relationship with my clients I like to engage in a relaxed and conversational manner.
