I utilize a broadly psychodynamic approach that blends attachment-based, Internal Family Systems, DBT, and narrative components to create a trauma-informed, holistic approach.
Welcome! I approach therapy as a collaborative process aimed at developing insight, acceptance, and trust in the self. Making changes outside often requires us to first look inward to listen and understand; when you are able to make sense of your internal world, you are better equipped to build the life you want from a place of centered awareness. Through our work together, we create a compassionate space to examine relational patterns, process trauma, and ultimately make a new story for you centered in healing.

We all struggle throughout life and I was no exception. Acknowledging the struggle is a huge step towards success along with finding the right therapist. We only know what we were taught and how to react to situations from those who raised us. You deserve to be the best you possible and I am here to help you find that. Let me help you discover new ways to a happy and healthier life. I utilize an attachment framework derived from Emotionally Focused Therapy and Story Informed Trauma Therapy (SITT) to help my clients understand how they came to be who they are.

We are attachment-based therapists and have extensive training in TF-CBT, Brainspotting, Trauma-Informed Mindfulness, DBT, EMDR, IFS, and Existential theories/modalites.
We work best with clients who are interested in deep reflective work, exploring how their early attachments, past relationships, and traumas impact their lives. We enjoy work that is creative and often step outside the bounds of traditional talk therapy to help clients move through difficult barriers to healing such as emotional dysregulation, dissociation, and parts of self. Rewired is an agency specializing in trauma-informed care, Brainspotting, Personality adaptations, and neuro-divergence.

Welcome! I am down to earth, approachable, funny and provide a warm and supportive environment for growth and transformation. I work with adults and adolescents to help them reach their most authentic selves. I utilize a relational, holistic and attachment based approach that looks at the entire individual emotionally, mentally and physically. I believe that our suffering comes from a disconnection from the Self. Eating disorders, obsessive behaviors, anxiety over working, over scrolling all come down to a fear of sitting with our own emotions.

I work with clients around issues of sexual dysfunction, pain, and low desire. I also specialize in working with marginalized sexualities and relationships, such as non-monogamy, kink, and LGBTQIA+. Sexuality is an integral part of who we are as human beings. It can be one of the greatest sources for pleasure and connection. However, that pleasure and connection can be blocked by things like shame, fear, grief, health issues, pain, and loss. I believe therapy can help clients create positive changes while building healthy narratives around intimacy, relationships, and gender.

I meet my clients where they are on their journey. My job is to support, encourage, and empower you. The healing journey is multi-faceted, multi-layered, and often unpredictable. However, there are signposts and milestones along the way and I combine my education, training, and skillset to help my clients journey with more ease and success. I help my clients process and overcome the effects of trauma using EMDR and somatic therapies. Allowing ourselves to trust and more fully embody our true self is a process of opening, letting go, receiving, and taking courageous steps.

Stress-related health issues ? Overworking to get ahead yet falling further behind in relationships ? My roots of many years in the medical field as a digestive disease and bariatric nutritionist taught me that mis-managed stress(food, drink, media ,substance, overwork) ravages our bodies and our relationships. But.... can be turned around! I have helped countless individuals and couples change problematic thoughts, destructive behavior patterns to improve relationships and health. Sharing your fears and story with someone who understands your medical health, genetics, and self-care will provide a holistic solution.

You actually want a harmonious relationship, full of warmth, love, and connection, but somehow your significant other finds a way to accuse you of being inconsiderate, selfish, and lacking in understanding. You want the two of you to be able to get along and enjoy each other’s company, but often feel overwhelmed by your partner’s demands, constant complaints, and need for control. Maybe there’s a theme of not feeling appreciated, protected, wanted, seen, or heard. Do you want the good news or bad news first? Nearly all loving relationships experience exactly what you and your significant other are experiencing AND it can get better.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
