If you are motivated to understand the conscious and unconscious forces and meanings that shape your experience and relationships; If you feel you are without choices; if you are struggling with questions of self-worth; if you are grieving; if you feel hurt, betrayed or abandoned, I encourage you to take the brave first step toward your self by entering into this safe space of non-judgment. I desire to create a safe and therapeutic space where individuals feel the safety to be seen and known.

As of April 2024, I am only accepting new clients for psychological assessment. My goal is to help adults understand themselves better and find more effective ways to cope with stressors. I approach therapy from an attachment-based and interpersonal lens, and I often focus on how past relationships impact present emotions and experiences. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy, and I strive to create a sense of safety that also fosters growth.

I offer play-based therapy, EMDR, attachment-based therapy, and work with families on increasing regulation/co-regulation.
Families are a child's first and most important teacher. Sometimes it's hard to feel that role is being fulfilled when your child is struggling and you feel that you struggle to help them. I love working with children and their families to help both the individual child and to strengthen the communication and bonds between the family. I enjoy working with children and families who come in with open hearts and who seek to learn and grow both from and with each other.

This is not the life you pictured, is it? You know things need to change but have no idea where to start. Being a human in this fast-paced society is quite difficult and often times heartbreaking. I strive to place the therapeutic relationship as my primary focus, because until someone feels authentically accepted, change is not going to be possible.

The most common form of suffering I see in people is when they no longer trust themselves. If you are struggling with habits that are harmful; whether it be drug or alcohol addiction, eating or spending money in harmful ways, there is hope that you can trust yourself again. Suffering comes in many forms, but for all in pain there is a way to heal and to feel safe again. My job is to help you find that.

It is ok not to be ok. We all find ourselves in difficult situations and therapy/counseling can help to alleviate those feelings of shame, guilt, being misunderstood, despair, and other emotions associated with those situations. I enjoy helping people grow in life, overcome adversity, and navigate difficult situations throughout their lives.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
