I specialize in attachment theory, addiction/addiction related issues, & becoming more aligned with your authentic self. I also enjoy working with couples wanting to strengthen communication skills or rebuild trust within their relationship. Caregivers were the first to teach us how to relate to others. Healthy relationships are often not modeled for us & we wonder why the same patterns repeat. I can help you gain insight into these patterns & we will work together to have healthier relationships. My goal is to get to know you, establish a strong connection, and provide a safe space to begin your healing journey together.

We work from a trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective which offers more clarity and true understanding of root issues and how these are manifesting in your daily life.
Accepting new clients throughout California for remote and in-person sessions in our group practice. We have clinicians available that specialize in a variety of client populations and mental health issues. We work with people to find real improvement in their lives and relationships. What would improve for you if you felt seen, heard and understood? How could your relationships grow if you moved beyond triggers and old wounds to a place of confidence and compassion?

My therapeutic approach tends to be eclectic, pulling from various Psychodynamic theoretical frameworks including Internal Family Systems, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, as well as DBT and CBT.
Sharing our inner experiences with someone can often feel frightening, which is exactly why I place such an importance on connection and acceptance in the therapeutic process. I aim to create a safe environment that will invite my clients to delve deeper into their personal narrative, as I truly believe we are not built to process emotions alone. As humans, we all have a propensity to grow and become our true selves, unfortunately we aren’t always gifted with the circumstances to allow it. I am passionate about creating a space for not only self-discovery and self acceptance, but to allow clients to feel seen, heard, and valued.

I'm a psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapist, attachment-based, and person-centered.
I work with women who are struggling with overwhelming anxiety. Sometimes this includes issues with relationships, eating issues, sports performance, spirituality, self esteem, codependency, life transitions, and grief. You may be feeling not good enough, stuck in a toxic relationship, uncomfortable asking for help, scared of conflict, intimidated, taken advantage of. You can achieve, tough it out, and make other people happy, but aren’t really happy yourself.

My approach to therapy is nonjudgemental, attachment-based, collaborative and interpersonal.
Do you self-sabotage? You work very hard to get ahead, strive for success and accomplish goals that you desire. Meanwhile, another part of you criticizes, punishes and demeans everything you’re working hard for. Is it a constant battle between what you want to accomplish, how you want your life to be and that harsh critical voice inside your head? That voice is a big part of your depression, anxiety and addiction. You are not alone and you are not hopeless and doomed to repeat this cycle over and over. I understand that voice and I want to help you find freedom from it.

I practice from both a relational and an attachment based framework. It’s widely known that the main driver of successful outcome in psychotherapy is the quality of the relationship between the patient and the clinician. It is also acknowledged that the majority of mental health issues are either caused, maintained, or intensified by unhealthy relationships. For these reasons, I place a great deal of emphasis upon our relationship as a foundation for implementing any clinical interventions.

Parenting can be the hardest job in the world and I am here to help. Do you have a difficult teenager? Is your child having trouble in High School? Has your family experienced divorce, remarriage, or difficulties with co-parenting? These types of issues have become very common and it is normal to need some help coping with them. I have many years experience working with children and their families and as a parent I can relate to the difficulties that arise each day. The decision to start therapy can be difficult because you may feel that you have already tried everything or you wonder if this will really help.

People come to me when they are in distress, hurting or stuck and want to improve their life and relationships. I provide a safe space to explore issues with food, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, self-worth, loss and creativity. I love to work with couples using Emotion Focused Therapy. Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
