In our work together, we will create a safe place. I will be your witness, bringing psychological understanding and compassion. I've been doing psychotherapy for over 30 years, and have seen the healing power that comes as you take a fresh look at your life circumstances and inner experience.
I've seen people of all ages -- from high school through retirement, and everywhere in between. About half my work has been with couples. I often see lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender couples and individuals.
Often, our work will begin at a time of transition -- a change in an important relationship, in work, becoming a parent, or adapting to a growing child.
At other times, our work may be about on-going struggles -- with anxiety, frustration, or self-esteem, or with physical or mental health.
In 30 years doing therapy, I've worked with a great variety of people. Here are some examples: immigrants, members of ethnic minority cultures, lesbian nuns. I've helped new couples,long-term partners, and parents (including two-mother, two-father, and single parents). For each person, psychotherapy can bring healing change.
