I have doctoral training in Clinical Social Work. I provide therapy, counseling, and support that is client-focused and family-centered. I am a certified mental health trainer.

As an attachment-focused and trauma-informed licensed clinical social worker for more than ten years, I’ve primarily worked in the fields of adoption and foster care. It has been a privilege to provide home study, post placement and clinical services to families as they sought and sustained permanency for children through domestic and international adoption, foster and kinship care. This has increased my understanding around issues including attachment disruption, transracial adoption, behavior management, fertility, loss, grief, identify formation and school issues.

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC), board approved clinical supervisor (ACS), and certified child and adolescent trauma professional (CATP) dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of individuals and families. I utilize an eclectic approach in working with children, adolescents, and adults to address psychological and behavioral concerns while meeting their developmental needs.

I work with children and teens and their families. I address issues including problematical attachment with parents and/or caregivers, negative self-image, trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, oppositionality, poor communication and social skills, acting out behaviors, sibling problems, and difficulties in school. As a therapist, I establish a safe "container" in which to work with children and parents together in order to strengthen a child's positive sense of self, reinforce the family system and bonds of attachment, and promote behavioral and emotional regulation. I work with teachers and school administrators to help children learn and thrive in school

Traumatic and stressful life experiences have made it challenging for you to live life the way that you want. You find yourself struggling with thoughts like, " I'm not good enough", "I'm a failure", or the feeling that "something is wrong" with you. You've struggled with anxiety or depression for as long as you can remember. Living this way is exhausting, and you want something different. Regular talk therapy can be helpful, but sometimes it's not enough. Brain- and body-based therapies, such as Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) can help.

In a non-judgemental, respectful atmosphere I accompany people along their journey to living richer, more meaningful life. I encourage people to broaden their awareness into their thoughts, feelings, reactions and behaviors to identify strengths and whats working and challenges and how they are getting in the way. Recognizing the the mind-body-spirit connection, understanding healthy and antiquated defenses and increasing capacity for feeling a greater range of emotions at a deeper level is an important focus of the psychotherapy process. Identifying feelings, understanding reactions and learning better, more effective means of communicating with others is integral as well.

When we feel stuck or frozen in life, these are the times when we are most in need of support. And yet reaching out for help, though imperative, can be just as challenging as continuing in the pain. I consistently work with clients regarding depression, anxiety, motivation, trauma, grief, understanding their identity, familial relations, gender identity, sexual identity, sexual/relationship needs, polyamorous relationships, kink, communication in relationships, and self-integration.
