Astute Counseling & Wellness Services is a modern, integrative mental health and wellness center based in Chicago, designed to care for the whole person—not just symptoms, but the mind, body, and nervous system working together. At its core, Astute is grounded in the belief that mental health cannot be fully addressed in isolation. True healing happens when we acknowledge the deep connection between emotional experiences, physical sensations, and overall well-being. This philosophy shapes everything we do.
Astute offers licensed, high-quality therapy alongside a full spectrum of wellness services, creating a unique environment.

Hi, my name is Samara and I am Licensed Professional Counselor and practice Somatic therapy. I am in the process of earning my Somatic Experiencing Practitioner credentials. I’ve started my second year of a three year training (Intermediate 2) and I deeply enjoy integrating somatic therapy into my work with clients. I meet clients where they are at. My goal is that my clients feel heard, seen, and validated when coming to therapy. I am always actively learning and studying through Somatic work, continuing education classes, reading, and attending conferences. Whether talk therapy or Somatic, lets give you the space to explore.

Finding yourself here means that you are ready for a change, most likely to change how you feel, and you are wondering how therapy can help. In my work, I aim to create an atmosphere that is safe, open, and nurturing to everyone. My approach to therapy is holistic and personalized, based on each person’s unique needs. I believe that everyone possesses the resources within themselves to create the change they hope for. Counseling simply facilitates unlocking these resources and providing additional tools to improve our lives.

My ideal client(s) has frustration, hopelessness, and potentially has been to therapy before and feels they have not made progress when it comes to improving the quality of their mental health. Their needs are to see results in their mental health and start to work through some overarching themes in their life. Their goals, to have the tools, understanding and perspective for a healthier mental wellbeing. What the client wants, to be able to live a life where they can work though the stresses and anxieties that come their way.
