I have a passion for working with people from various backgrounds, cultures, and age groups from adolescence all the way through end of life. I enjoy assisting individuals and couples who struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, eating disorders, life transition, and self-esteem concerns. I also have several years of experience walking alongside clients who struggle with thoughts of suicide, irrational thought patterns, and self-injury. My goal is to improve the quality of life, by focusing on past and present painful situations and trauma, to eliminate road blocks to a happier life.

I have seen people struggle for years with depression and/or anxiety caused by negative thoughts we have about ourselves from things we have been through in life, some things big and bad, others unintentional or seemingly benign. While we all experience challenges in life, you don't deserve to suffer and I can/want to help you find that relief. Medication helps, but is not the answer to long term recovery. Regular talk therapy is helpful, but also not the answer to long term recovery. EMDR therapy has been the most hopeful service for long term recovery I have found and the benefits can be physiologically understood.

There isn’t a one size “fix” all package for mental health. What works for one; may not work for another. I will be the first one to tell you that I am not the expert in your pain, your life, or your journey. You are. I am simply here to walk alongside you and be a resource for your growth. I believe one of the hardest and bravest things you can do for yourself, is to not only understand your story, but to continue growing from it.

Every step taken in the pursuit of happiness, health, and wellness is a gift you give to yourself and to those around you. Making the first steps toward necessary change can be difficult, but with every step comes growth, awareness and renewed balance. Life presents us with so many challenges and finding support during these difficult times can be very helpful. I will encourage you to identify and draw from the internal strengths you have as well as introducing you to the therapeutic approaches that guide my practice to assist you in coping with the challenges you are experiencing.

In my experience working in the mental health field for the last decade, therapy is often sought after someone has suffered long enough or until the symptoms become unmanageable. It is my hope that as we continue to destigmatize mental health more people can feel comfortable utilizing this valuable service as a preventative measure and not as a last resort.
