Mark’s first love has always been in practice with family and individual counseling. After managing, he decided to enter into private practice, currently with the Mindful Therapy Group. Mark provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy services to people with a variety of mental and emotional difficulties including depression, anxiety, attention deficit, multiple personality, anti-social and other personality issues. Mark has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from different backgrounds, cultures, and unique circumstances.

I have over 20 years' experience working in community mental health and in private practice, and my specialties include working through the painful memories of trauma, childhood sexual abuse, family conflict/abuse, and other deprivations which create low self-esteem and cause depression and anxiety. I am also interested in how capitalist culture undermines our ability to express ourselves creatively, and how the pressure of modern life can thwart vitality and hope.

Welcome! I am a retired Navy Chaplain with 10 years of enlisted service and 8 years as a chaplain. I retired in 2008 and then worked 7 years as a mental health crisis worker, housed homeless Veterans for four years, and now I am doing telehealth therapy since 2020 just before the pandemic. I have a wide variety of experiences with many different types of people in many different situations.

I am an integrative and culturally sensitive driven therapist who works with teens and adults to unlearn systemic inequalities and process intergenerational trauma, grief, and anxiety, so you can confidently befriend your feelings, navigate life transitions, step into authenticity, and feel more at home in yourself. Often times when we are going through something difficult, it can be hard to see our way out. This may lead to spiraling thoughts, a lost sense of security & safety, thinking "I'm not good enough", consistently feeling on edge, and feeling disconnected from ourselves and others.

I have a dual focus on both therapy and Sports Psychology. I have tremendous success is treating clients with issues related to adolescence, transitioning into young adulthood, failure to launch, parent/child conflict, anxiety, trauma and developing mental focus to achieve specific performance goals and aspirations. My clients typically have a problem or a goal they are trying to work through to improve their life in the present and the future.

What are the most important attributes of healthy modern men? Being a man today is not always easy. I have worked with men for years to help bring clarity and balance to their lives around emotions, family, work-life balance, overall health, sexuality, intimacy, fatherhood, commitment, anger/stress management, creative outlets, and communication.
