As a Licensed Professional Counselor my goal is to help you become your best self. If you are in need of support with past traumatic issues I have worked for over 10 years helping people who have suffered many traumatic events. In addition, I have worked with many families to help them and their children when it comes to parenting, adjusting to separation, divorce or blending your family effectively after a divorce. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral approach along with a Dialectical Behavioral approach in order to challenge and reframe thoughts along with developing healthy coping strategies to counteract emotional distress. As an outpatient therapist, I have provided services to individuals, families, couples and groups. I was co-leader of a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group for 8 years. Also, I received training in trauma focused CBT and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) in a specialized trauma treatment program. I am now in private practice.

I work from a Narrative Therapy approach to counseling which is a helpful tool to assist clients to look at their lives critically and holistically while processing the changes they want in their lives and relationships. I work collaboratively to unearth themes of problems AND strengths, the strategies my clients have already attempted to work through their problems, strengthen self-identity and awareness, and explore desired life changes by breaking them into manageable tasks. I also work systemically with couples and families to build more supportive & connected relationships.

I'm a pre-licensed mental health therapist. I've come to New Directions Mental Health from Carlow University Health & Counseling Services where I worked with students who had a variety of presenting concerns including anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, depression, personality disorders, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Prior to working at Carlow, I owned and operated a retail store in Morgantown, West Virginia which often partnered with WVU and LGBTQ+ organizations. I will be providing individual services to adults of all ages. I'm experienced in treating most areas of concern with a specialty in familial-related trauma.
