Throughout the years of working with my clients, I have been moved and inspired by their persistence and dedication to build a better life for themselves despite insurmountable challenges that they often face and have overcome. I work closely with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, and interpersonal skills, as well as those who are struggling with OCD. I also work with parents who want to learn strategies to enhance their children's positive behavior. I have also worked as a school psychologist for over a decade, and work closely with children, their parents and schools on developing emotional regulation skills.

My ideal client is trying to understand not only the root causes that created a less than optimal life functioning emotionally, socially, occupationally, academically, or intrafamilially, but the actual cognitive behavioral steps to remedy the problem. I believe most problems we encounter in our everyday lives can be improved upon and transformed into a life we have chosen.

Emily is a Licensed Master of Social Work who obtained her Master’s degree from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She has experience working with clients of all ages, however is drawn to working with children and adolescents. Emily has experience working in the school setting, hospital setting, and for non profit organizations. As a retired School Psychologist from the NYC Department of Education, I offer affordable psychotherapy for adults, children, couples and families.
