Dr. Thomas is a licensed psychologist and graduate of the Gordon Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University, the first graduate program in clinical psychology with an educational model devoted to the practicing clinician/psychotherapist. With pre- and post-doctoral experience and training in psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapy, he has practiced for over 30 years, working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual psychotherapy, as well as providing neuropsychological evaluations to identify the learning needs of children and young adults.

I have worked in community mental health since 2006 with a wide variety of clients who deal with mental illness, personality disorders, relationship issues and general life stressors. My client base ranges in age from childhood through adulthood and includes families, couples and groups.

With over 30 years of experience with children and their families I utilize many of the leading approaches including CBT and solution focused and strength based to help with a "good fit" or alliance being the primary objective. When the child or teen is comfortable in opening up healing and positive change is possible. Parents have many tools some of which they are not using to fullest and these can be accessed with help.

This trusted individual should be able to assist in organizing your thoughts and feelings, and provide coping strategies to navigate through life’s stressors.
