Having been in private practice for approximately 25 years, as well as having worked in hospital, clinic, and school settings, I 've found people are unique individuals typically involved in a variety of systems including family, friends, school, or work. Nearly thirty years ago I was began my family therapy training with one of the most highly-regarded figures in the field, Dr. Salvador Minuchin. Since then, I have worked with couples reeling from affairs, or on the verge of divorce, people suffering from anxiety or depression, and children with "acting out" behavior or identified as having ADHD. My long experience as a family therapist has only deepened my appreciation for the trials and triumphs of the human condition. I work relatively briefly, and often successfully, with those who have tried other therapies, without improvement.

I recognize that people often have many different types of trauma in their lives. Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes and may be interpreted differently by each individual. Traumatic issues can range from bullying, loss of friendship, transitions of all types, to devastating life events. I have provided care to adolescents and adults suffering from emotional disturbances, as a result of trauma and loss. Subsequently these disturbances will interfere with school, work, and relationships and may ultimately prevent one from living a fulfilling life.
