I am unique for being someone who has studied the subject at Boston University (Doctorate in Education and Master's in Social Work), having experience working with such clients for 12 years, and having raised a son with autism (many years as a single parent).

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years experience working with people struggling with a wide range of issues including, but not limited to social/emotional distress, developmental delays, learning disabilities, as well as issues related to chronic mental illness. Although I consider myself to be an eclectic, my primary therapeutic modalities are Client-Centered Therapy and CBT infused with the psycho-educational component of DBT focusing on Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

I have over 30 years experience treating adults, children and adolescents individually and with their families. I help my patients find strategies to cope with and overcome social, emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with Anxiety, Trauma, Depression, Asperger Syndrome. I conduct independent psycho-educational evaluations to determine a child's learning style, strengths/weaknesses and eligibility for special education services. I consult with districts/families and advocate on behalf of students with learning disabilities and emotional issues in the Massachusetts area.

I have been working with the autistic and neurodivergent community for over 10 years. I have found that my own personal identification of being autistic and having a 20 year old child with autism has made working with other autistic individuals successful and rewarding.
