I am a solution-driven psychotherapist with a humanistic and experiential focus on emotional and physical well-being for children through young adults. I'm licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California, a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and an in-home Therapeutic Crisis Coach for families. My practice focuses on psychotherapy, neuropsychological assessment, and educational advocacy. Due to COVID, I am offering tele-assessment for those in high risk groups or w/ family members who are. Issues include: learning problems, employment challenges, relationship struggles, life transitions, developmental disorders, medical illnesses, and stress of being a member of a diverse group (LGBT, ethnic minorities, etc.). I see children/adults who may be unconventional, anxious, depressed or do not fit comfortably within their environment. The label “disability” may be applied to them, but “differently abled” is more accurate.

I work well with the client who genuinely wants to seek out counseling in order to find answers, solutions, or different perspectives to their struggles. Client success comes from being vulnerable, admitting and recognizing flaws, a desire to improve and become better, and an openness to being challenged. People come to counseling for a myriad or reasons including grief, unhappiness with life circumstances, feeling lost, lack of motivation, lack of purpose, and any other major life event causing turmoil. Through a trusted and trained adult in the therapeutic journey, clients will discover the neglected areas of their lives.

Terry Samuels earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in December 1994 from Armstrong Atlantic University. Terry obtained his Master of Public Administration degree in December 1996 from Georgia State University. Terry obtained his Master of Professional Counseling degree in December 2015 from Grand Canyon University. Terry completed a 10-month internship at Intown Psychological Associates and completed the hours required for his associate license. Terry is a fully licensed therapist in the state of Georgia (LPC011391). Terry obtained his doctorate in psychology from Grand Canyon University in November of 2023.
