Alison has over 14 years of experience in counseling those suffering from a variety of issues including mood disorders such as grief, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder as well as behavior disorders such as Impulse Control and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. She has also worked extensively with children who have been abused and neglected and suffer from the trauma they endured in the formative years of their life.

I am a licensed psychologist accepting teletherapy patients from all areas of Georgia. In-office patients will be seen at St Simons Psychiatry. I work with all ages incorporating mental, physical and spiritual factors. Therapy with children and teens typically involves better communication with parents and parenting help. Areas of expertise are mood, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, behavior problems, autism, chronic pain, stress and anger management.

Our individual sessions are structured according to the client's needs and goals. We specialize in developmental disorders, sensory processing, anxiety and panic disorders. With an emphasis on healthy boundary setting, identifying cognitive distortions, assertive communication, relationships, and the science of interpersonal neurobiology. I am a clinical psychologist with a background in philosophy, who enjoys helping people untie the mental and emotional knots that have held them back. Much of my work involves properly identifying the problems-in-living with which my clients are struggling and eliciting their latent skills and creative resources to overcome those problems. That is, before one can properly get anywhere therapeutically, one must answer the question, “What makes the ‘problem’ a problem at this time, in this way, for this particular person?”
