Hi, I am Dr Julia, director of Creative Therapies. Over thirty years I have developed and fine-tuned a unique, whole-child approach to child therapy. After your consultation, initial parent intake and goal setting, your child will enter therapy. Whether your child plays, draws, or talks, the challenges will present for healing, usually in the very first session, and often different from what the parents identified. Your child will play, resolve and master challenges. While unlike traditional child therapy you participate in weekly phone discussions, receive assignments, techniques and answers to your questions and concerns.

I have experience with working with children as young as 3, families, adolescents and adults. I have worked extensively with families involved in the DCF system. I've worked with individuals with special needs and adolescent and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders and PTSD, across the State of Connecticut , and within a group home setting, and I hold a certification in TF-CBT. I enjoy being creative and assisting my clients in building coping skills, and I feel very lucky to work with each client that I meet. I also enjoy facilitating groups and am a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor.

I have over 12 years of clinical experience, which has been in both outpatient and in home settings working with a wide range of clients in the greater Waterbury area. I have experience with children, adolescents and adults of all ages, who present with a variety of mental health disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Conduct Disorders, Substance Use and Co-occuring Disorders.
