My clients tend to be people who want to feel more in control of their emotions, more effective at getting what they want, less stuck, more flexible, more connected and really just more at peace. They seek relief from patterns - sometimes chronic and severe, sometimes only subtly troublesome - of painful emotions, negative self-talk and thoughts, rumination, relationship instability and self sabotaging behaviors. I offer Psychotherapy for adults. Common issues include: depression, anxiety, life crises, post-traumatic stress; life transitions, including midlife, the elder years, and aging; emotional growth, self-esteem; grief, grieving, and loss; coping with illness; relationship tune-ups, including communication. I value your thinking, which we will include as we solve your problems. I also focus on your strengths. They often hold a part of the solution. In addition, we may choose to do EMDR therapy. EMDR is a kind of psychotherapy that addresses not only trauma but also difficult life experiences or problems-in-living.

I specialize in working with individuals with social learning deficits. During intake calls, many parents report their child to have some (or all) of the following traits: Very bright (above average IQ), better with adults and younger children than with peers, interrupts, trouble with balanced conversation (tends to monologue or doesn't contribute), struggles with losing, challenges with emotional regulation and impulse control, inflexible, strong language abilities, difficulty with perspective taking, wants to engage with others but often gets stuck, trouble with problem-solving, and/or executive function challenges.

I am born and raised in the Bay Area. I began my career as a para-professional working with families of children with developmental disabilities. I obtained my Doctor of Psychology from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium in 2013. I have worked with adults and children/adolescents in a variety of different settings and contexts, including individual, family, couples and group therapy.
