Throughout my 25 years as a therapist, I have focused on issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, self harm, suicidal thoughts, and oppositional/defiance. Many of my clients also describe themselves as Neurodivergent. No matter what the issues may be, I find that people often start therapy because they feel stuck and are seeking ways to move forward. We work together to develop concrete goals such as making a new friend or just getting out of bed everyday. Other clients in my practice are searching for a safe place to work through their pain. I've been working with adolescents and their parents for nearly 40 years. I have enjoyed helping families navigate the adolescent experience dealing with issues of parenting practices, adolescent self esteem and social development and issues of sexuality and sexual identity.

I work primarily with children, teens, and young adults experiencing stress and anxiety, executive functioning deficits, identity confusion, mood disorders, grief and loss, and life adjustment challenges (i.e. separation/divorce). By providing a safe, non-judgmental environment, clients can effectively express, explore, and process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe every client is equipped with a unique set of strengths and skills that can help them overcome adversity. By helping clients rework negative perceptions of events in their lives or of themselves, clients can move to a more regulated state.

Dr. Ashley received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Mercer University in 2023, a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Clark Atlanta University in 2018, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Central Arkansas in 2016.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have served in the capacity of clinician, teacher, coach, and mentor to adults, adolescents, and children. I am the founder and CEO of two organizations (A Safe Space LLC and Camp Mdogo Kondo). A Safe Space LLC, is designed to eradicate the stigma of mental health in our communities by providing a safe space to share emotions and feelings. Camp Mdogo Kondo (Young Warriors), a youth summer camp for at-risk boys.
