At Music Therapy Montclair we specialize in mental health services for all ages, providing evidence-based creative arts interventions for individuals dealing with anxiety or depression, seeking alternatives to more traditional therapies, or in need of additional support. Our services also include therapies for medically complex children, adults and infants, individuals with chronic pain, bereaved children and adults, individuals with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder or other sensory or communicative challenges, and expectant and new families in need of maternal or perinatal bonding and wellness support.

I specialize in both clinical psychology and neuropsychology with extensive experience treating adolescents and adults with psychiatric disabilities, anxiety, depression, couples and marital conflict, and geriatric issues. I also provide neuropsychological assessment of older children, adolescents and adults dealing with a host of issues including ADD, specific learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and dementia. I have an extensive background in vocational rehabilitation and can provide related assistance via evaluation and recommendations, related counseling and linkage to relevant services.

I treat anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD , mood disorders and learning disabilities, and often use cognitive behavioral interventions such as systematic desensitization. My background in School Psychology has sensitized me to the impact that cognitive limitations, learning disabilities, ADHD and spectrum disorders have on day to day functioning in adulthood, where the most typical presenting problems are Anxiety, Depression, and Relationship issues.

Dr. LaBode-Richman is dually trained and specialized in psychotherapy treatment and neuropsychological assessment. She enjoys working with clients across the lifespan and is able to offer state-of-the-art services in both English and Spanish.
