Some of these include depression, anxiety, loss and grief, transitions and other life stages, job dissatisfaction, low self esteem, histories of past abuse, divorce, parenting issues, ADD/ADHD, and issues connected with gender, sexuality or teenage pregnancy. I am supportive, direct and like to use humor. I often utilize a pragmatic approach in which you learn specific tools to deal with negative and stressful thoughts that often run through your mind.

My name is Sara, I am a LMFT and a Registered Play Therapist. I enjoy working closely with kids and families to help them reach their goals. I view your family and your child's problem in the context of their life and relationships. I take a comprehensive family system's approach, which is client centered and focused on the goals you bring to therapy. We will develop a comprehensive treatment plan, taking into consideration family history, health, educational goals/needs, living situation, and cultural aspects of your life. I encourage clients to work with family and/or supports throughout the therapeutic process.

A responsible social practitioner, I provide psychological care, and services using American Sign Language (ASL). I work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, including various populations that encompass sign language users. My interests center on developing tailored, specific psychotherapy applications that benefit the patients with hearing losses. Much of my work places an emphasis on the importance of "courageous will" to empower individuals to make choices that are useful and practical.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of Washington and I work with relationship issues, shame, childhood wounds, anxiety, depression, grief, and anger-management. My approach to counseling is informed by a deep belief that every individual has inherent value and dignity. In my work, I seek to offer my clients a safe place to unpack the difficulties of life while also offering hope for a more fulfilling future. I believe that healing is relational, and I want to offer my clients an experience of compassion and empathy as we work through healing together.

Individuals, couples and families are all seen as my ideal client. I typically see clients from the ages of 13 and up, but I do make some exceptions. Clients who are having difficulties with communicating their emotions, identifying their strengths and their core self, or having dysfunctional dyadic or family patterns are clients who I know I can help. Clients coming regularly and genuinely working with me to accomplish the goals we set out at the beginning of therapy are ideal. As a family therapist, I am interested in how to improve relationships with your children, siblings, parents or someone else in the family, we can work through that together.
