Hi! My name is Christina Burke I am a Deaf Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) in Washington D.C. and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Maryland. I provide psychological care and services to people who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind, late deafened and cochlear implant user in American Sign Language (ASL). My practical applications are mainly done through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Gestalt Therapy. It is natural to experience interpersonal dilemmas, workplace struggles or domestic stressors and need help identifying ways to balance those and engage in self-care.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, chronic pain and/or chronic illness. Other areas of focus that I can help you with include relationship issues, anger, stress-management, physical and learning disabilities including ADD/ADHD, life-stage issues and self-esteem. My professional career began as a certified American Sign Language Interpreter in 2001 and quickly progressed into earning a Graduate degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin.

Change can be difficult - but with support it becomes possible. You might be struggling with difficult thoughts like "what if my family never accepts my life choices - will they ever accept me?" Perhaps you're battling indecisiveness and fear about whether you're "good enough" to succeed, preventing you from reaching your aspirations and goals? I am a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-Associate) and a registered Art Therapist (ATR). I provide Christian counseling and Art Therapy services to children, adults, and couples.

I believe that many of the problems individuals face can be worked through by gaining increased insight and knowledge about oneself.
