I work with individuals and families with hearing loss and Deafness. As a specialist in hearing loss and the psychosocial effects of Deafness I work with people on building and maintaining solid relationships. Growth and change are always possible and a core foundation to my approach. Learning to balance your stressors negative and positive is what makes change possible, and is how I will work with you towards building hope. My VP number for Deaf clients is 860-591-9088. My ideal client is an adult individual or adult couples, including issues of communication, intimacy, establishing boundaries & goals. Their needs are how to achieve closeness, mutual respect & understanding. They want mutual validation & awareness, willingness & motivation for change & improvement in their lives as they move forward towards a better life. I am committed to working with diverse individuals, as well as couples learning how to navigate the transitions of dating, new relationships, Long-Term Relationships (LTR's), marriage, separations, conscious uncouplings,& divorce. I identify strengths & issues.

I work collaboratively with my clients in identifying goals for treatment with attainable outcome measures. I am able to provide several treatment modalities that best fit the individual's needs. I understand that this can be a difficult decision and that there may have been many challenges along the way before making this initial contact. For these reasons I strive to provide everyone with a highly professional, confidential, and supportive experience as we explore possible treatment options together.

Why do I need therapy? Therapy is for people who are crazy or out of control! I should be able to do this by myself! Asking or getting help means I'm not capable or strong. People are in therapy "cause they have to be." Couple's therapy is a last resort. Family therapy doesn't work/is not for me. Are any of these questions going through your mind? Is it helpful to know you are not alone? Sometimes, people are apprehensive about engaging in therapy or leery about continuing with therapy. All of the above reactions are understandable considering people's experiences. Licensure supervision/professional consultations offered.
