I believe that people have primary accountability for their own lives, and that within each of us is the power and capacity to make choices that will lead to happiness and fulfillment. However, sometimes there are obstacles that must first be overcome (for example, anger, depression, trauma, anxiety, sexual identity issues, relationship problems, etc.) to be able to make healthy choices. I assist my clients along their journey of self-discovery as they learn how to empower themselves to overcome their obstacles. They then are able to make choices that will lead them to the life they want to have.

Everyone gets stuck now and then, may feel lost or alone. Sometimes you may just need a little support, an unbiased listener to help gain insight or clarity. Other times you may need help to delve more deeply into your emotions to transform and grow. I approach therapy as a collaborative process where together we explore your life challenges with curiosity but without judgement. Although not always easy, therapy can be deeply rewarding. An exploration that will help you reconnect with your inner strength and wisdom, better able to overcome obstacles and to move towards a greater sense of wellbeing.

I’m Abbie, a dedicated intern therapist specializing in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression, and anxiety. With years in the field I have developed a passion for mental health and am eager to provide empathetic and effective support tailored to my clients needs. I aim to help my clients develop their self compassion, resilience, and overall satisfaction with life. By utilizing a strengths-based approach, my clients work toward meeting their goals.

I specialize in working with clients who grew up with the sense that "something was off," those that received the messaging that they were too sensitive. Whether you are a trauma survivor, stuck in cyclical relapse, queer, or neurodivergent, I know what it's like to find refuge in anything but other people. I am specifically trained to work with individuals who want to reconsider their relationship with substances, whether the hope is abstinence or moderation. I approach counseling from a collaborative lens that honors the complexity of identity (ethnicity, gender, disability, language, sexual orientation and any other factors that relate to an individual's personal, societal and cultural experiences).

Clients that come to me for issues regarding their dissatisfaction with their progress on overcoming their challenges in life. Life issues range from traumatic experiences, LGBTQ issues, addictions & substance use disorders, spiritual problems, career problems, chronic illness, child & parenting issues as well as family imbalances. They want change and they want it with someone who can connect with them in real ways that help them know they are cared for, can be confident, and can overcome the challenges that confront them.

Accepting new clients in-person or virtual. Our approach is goal-oriented at all levels and we truly believe everyone deserves to be free from the things holding them back.
