About
Have you been feeling not heard or understood, and isolated or ashamed? You may be wondering, “what’s wrong with me?” I know how painful it is to feel that way because I’ve been there many times, too. And I’ve come out of it with a few nuggets of knowledge and tools each time. For 16 years I’ve been helping people feel more connected to and loved by people around them as well as themselves by sharing knowledge and tools accumulated through my personal and professional journey. Human beings are social animals that need connection with others whom we trust and feel safe with to survive and thrive. That's why isolation is so painful.
To connect, we need to feel safe. If not, we start seeing others as enemies. Our bodies are assessing safety 24/7 to categorize the result in 3 states: Green-Safe, connect; Yellow-Danger, fight or flight; & Red-Overwhelming Threat, shut down. Learning how to be aware of our state via sensations, and how to return to the Green state is the key for connection.
We all have this innate capacity for connection which can get buried by overwhelming stress from our daily life in relation to social, cultural, historical context. Let me help you reconnect to your innate capacity, through body-based mindfulness approaches; Interpersonal neurobiology, Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi, Brainspotting, Yoga, and Meditation.
