I support individual adults (18+) in addressing challenges, some of which include healing and wellness from depression, anxiety, trauma (generational/PTSD/racial), life transitions, stress, low self-esteem, and cultural and relationship challenges. In doing so, I utilize person-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed, and systemic approaches in therapy with specific techniques from ACT, narrative, DBT, CBT, and EMDR. Clients can expect unconditional care, a sense of authenticity, respect for their unique story, and yes, even a space for humor when participating in one of my sessions.

Healing is about learning to feel, feel more while present and connected in your body, your life, and the life of those around you past, present, and future. Eiko helps people heal through the ecology of embodiment during life activities you want to feel liberated or at ease while doing. Eiko integrates a healing justice lens to help people navigate colonialism, racial identities, gender, sexuality, stress reduction, sensory needs, nervous system shifts, relationships, and connecting with ecosystems. *Limited availability* I collaborate with my clients to identify and examine their unique life narratives and how those narratives inform their life experiences and relationships. Research shows that expressing ourselves can lead to positive change and better understanding of ourselves. During our journey together, I respect my clients by bringing in a culturally informed and non-judgmental lens, utilizing personal, religious/spiritual, and/or cultural strengths approach to healing. Together we will work on listening to our bodies and minds, integrating both in ways that bring positivity and restoration to ourselves and our relationships.

When Henry Thoreau gazed at the summer tree and said that “the tenderest fruit needs the tenderest handling,” as a therapist, I believe it's equally true to our mind and our experiences. The problem is the problem, and the person is not the problem. My role as the therapist is to create a safe but brave space for you and to lean into the inner strength that may be shadowed by past wounds, present stress, or the hopelessness of the future. I have extensive experience helping clients work through depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, relational problems, LGBTQ+ and gender specific issues, as well as culturally specific concerns.

Erica is a Pre-Licensed LPCC and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Minnesota and graduated with a Master of Professional Studies in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Erica has experience working with adults, families, couples, and adolescents in the residential, outpatient, community, and academic/school settings. Erica is passionate about providing care from a holistic and trauma-informed lens, ensuring every individual is seen and honored for their unique strengths, experiences, and inner wisdom rather than seen or labeled as a diagnosis.

If you're struggling in your relationships with things like communication and you feel like you don’t know how to improve it, even with workbooks or past therapy, I can successfully help relationships and individuals learn not only how to have hard conversations, but also how to tolerate the distress of having to talk about things we think we “shouldn’t have to.” To accomplish this, we'll identify communication styles, barriers, and other relational dynamics keeping the relationship from thriving by using skills-focused and narrative approaches that reinforce the relationship.

Accepting new clients! I work with teens and adults navigating challenges in their lives, such as healing from difficult experiences, navigating family and relationship dynamics, communication and setting boundaries, managing overthinking, keeping up with high expectations, and navigating oppressive systems. Many of the individuals I work with have historically marginalized identities related to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, and immigration backgrounds. As a result, we explore intergenerational trauma and resilience, historical traumas, cultural differences, and other aspects that shape your experiences.

At various times in our life we find ourselves challenged to do just that as we struggle to make it through the day.
