Our mission is to offer an Integrated Approach to Mental Health, and our treatment team is varied in their ability to provide clinical advice, support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. Our treatment team works with clients to find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues. Blending conventional and alternative approaches, we draw on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. We will work with clients to help them build on their strengths in order to identify and achieve life goals.

I help client's to define clear goals for therapy and then we work together to achieve those goals. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with 13+ years of experience working with tweens, teens, adults, and couples who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, struggling to adjust to a life change, or coping with a medical diagnosis. I have expertise in supporting women dealing with infertility and pregnancy loss and in working with parents of children with special needs helping them to cope with their child's diagnosis and life post diagnosis. I am particularly sensitive to the impact of culture on an individual or family's experience of mental and physical health symptoms.

I bring to the practice of psychotherapy a doctoral degree in theology as well as psychology and 17 years of teaching Religious Studies on the college level. I am ready to assist clients who feel they have been harmed psychologically by religion or spirituality and to draw on religion or spirituality as sources of healing. I have no interest in promoting any particular tradition and will ignore these topics if so asked. I have specific training and experience in the treatment or trauma resulting from abuse and neglect, domestic violence, war, torture or accidents.

Although I tailor the treatment plan to meet each couple's or individual's needs, the majority of my interventions are drawn from the cognitive-behavioral toolset. I seek to understand strengths, as well as the problems that bring people into my office. Using well-timed humor, relevant research information, and meaningful feedback, I collaboratively design treatment plans that feel "doable." Usually, my clients feel relief in the first few sessions.
