Ashley, a resident therapist at Inner Resources Counseling, is committed to working with vulnerable populations, from preschoolers through adulthood, to help them feel empowered and to re-establish a felt sense of safety. She especially enjoys collaborating with women who have survived domestic violence, sexual trauma, human trafficking, or other forms of abuse. At the other end of the spectrum, Ashley excels in working with children and their families who have attachment issues, anxiety, behavior problems, grief, or physical and sexual abuse.
With 10 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including inpatient, home-based, community mental health and group practice, Ashley has been able to develop a wide range of treatment approaches to meet client needs. She has specialized training in attachment (Theraplay) and child-centered play therapy.
Her approach is strength-focused with an understanding that building a trusting relationship with a provider is one of the most important pieces of the therapeutic process.
