With 13 years of experience, I have found a strong passion for working with adolescents and young adults. I enjoy helping my clients gain a better understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they are connected. I especially enjoy helping teens and parents strengthen their relationship and ability to communicate.
I have extensive experience in treating self-harm and suicidal thoughts and I have training in TF-CBT and EMDR level 1 to assist with healing. I have a strong focus on self-esteem, family, and anxiety related issues. With a background in CBT my sessions also focus on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors and may include DBT skills work.
Clients have told me that I offer a kind, supportive, yet challenging and solution focused approach. I believe in building rapport by offering validation, empathy, and honest but kind feedback. I have seen the benefits of strong parent support in therapy and encourage parents to take an active role in their teens therapy when and where appropriate.
