I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience providing therapy in community mental health and private practice. My experience has allowed me to work with a variety of people ranging in age from young children through our older adult population, as well as many different cultural and religious backgrounds. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
I am certified in EMDR, which is a helpful and evidenced-based tool for the treatment trauma. EMDR assists in reprocessing traumatic memories to promote healing and inner peace. Other Theoretical orientations I tend to utilize are CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT- incorporates mindfulness, emotion regulation, and communication skills) and EFT.
I am passionate about building a genuine, unconditional, and non-judgmental rapport with my clients. It is important to me to hold a safe space for people to let their guard down in efforts to start their healing journey through therapy.
