I am a NY State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist with over 20 years of experience. I am trained in Trauma-informed, Psychodynamic, Client-Centered Psychotherapy, EMDR (Level 1), and Mindfulness/Meditation as well. I believe therapy helps people to access coping skills, enhance their happiness, strengthen relationships, and find/make meaning in their lives. I help my clients to find their own unique strengths and resilience and to navigate the natural ups and downs of life. I offer a compassionate and authentic approach and evidenced-based interventions. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client.
I work with adults and adolescents around issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief identity, self-esteem, addiction, family issues, relationships, and how to find personal growth, connection, and stability in a chaotic world. I help clients to find a balance between exploring the past, setting goals for the future, and being present in the here and now.
Though I offer traditional talk psychotherapy with many clients, my training in EMDR, art therapy, and yoga/meditation offer some additional modalities to help clients who may be resistant to traditional therapy, or who may have reached stagnation with years of talk therapy. These modalities help to facilitate right/left brain stimulation and ease of mind.
