It's my understanding that emotions are my mind and body's way of telling me something about my life experience and needs. However, emotions can be uncomfortable, scary, and overwhelming. It requires vulnerability and courage to ask for help getting to understand these feelings better. I strive to help clients better understand their life experiences and feelings however they may show up. Some of the things I have helped clients with are complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, existential anxieties, codependency, grief, autism, ADHD, & more. I have worked with children as young as 3 yro, but now focus on adults.
My approach is shaped by a combo of training in somatic & trauma-focused methods, including EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, synergetic play, integrative somatic approaches, MBSR, & eco-therapy - using an interpersonal, humanistic framework. In my psychotherapy we're often focusing on the mind-body connection, looking deeper into the info feelings & behaviors offer.
My goal in therapy is for my clients to have a judgement free space where they feel safe, understood, & empowered in their healing process. I work hard to create a space where my clients can feel free to be themselves & explore their thoughts & feelings to gain better understanding of their experiences in order to accomplish their own goals & healing.
