Hello there, mama. It's okay to not be okay. It's okay to feel touched out, overwhelmed, exhausted, confused, angry, sad, and anxious. You are in matrescence: the process of becoming a mother. Think adolescence but with a lot less sleep and a lot more responsibility. A word that makes space for the hormonal, physical, emotional, mental and social upheaval that accompanies any and all stages of becoming a mother: fertility struggles, conception, miscarriage, pregnancy, birth, infant loss, surrogacy, adoption, and the post natal period.
I have 10+ years of training in psychodynamic therapy and in process of a PMH-C. I value the relationship between you and I, and I listen intentionally to how your current struggles may connect to something much deeper. I will help you make sense of the overwhelm in motherhood and identify triggers that may stem from your relationship to your own mother.
I'd love to come alongside you in this process of matrescence, offering you a warm space during the metamorphosis- in the throes of excitement, anxiety, uncertainty, and maybe even sadness of discovering who you are now. Whether or not you are the one who gave birth to your baby, you are the one who will give birth to yourself.
